So I guess it wasn't 15 minutes, or really even 5 minutes, but myself and the other pediatric residents at Sanford were featured in a news segment on one of the local news stations the other day. Enjoy!

An official Dakotan
So I know it has been quite awhile since I have posted anything and many people told me I was not allowed to have a blog if I wasn't going to post something more than once every couple of months, you know who you are, so here is my attempt to keep you up to date!
As of a few days ago I have become an official Dakotan. I can't say that I have officially moved in yet since there are still several boxes that have gone untouched since when I first brought them up almost a month ago, but I feel like I am starting to get adjusted and can call my new space "home". Loft living isn't quite what I was used to, but for living solo it has been the perfect adjustment from a house with roommates. I promise to share pictures soon, but I figured I might want to clear out the boxes first!
As far as settling into my new surroundings I can say I am getting there, taking on the role as a doctor is a whole other story! We have now undergone 3 full days of orientation and we have 7 more to go! As each day comes and goes I begin to realize that the inevitable D day to begin intern year gets closer and closer. In a residency panel the other day all the residents said to take a deep breath and not to worry ... easy for them to say! I am sure once my days as an intern officially begin I will have many more stories to share, but for now I just wanted to let you know that after only a few days in South Dakota, I am really enjoying being a Dakotan and looking forward to what I have yet to discover about my new surroundings. More to come soon!
